While dermal fillers are great, they are not always necessary. Sometimes you need is a quick ‘glow up’ to brighten and tighten skin. This is where skin boosters come in.

At SAYA Aesthetics, we use renowned brands Profhilo and Vivacy Hydromax and Hydro to boost skin quality in a few quick treatments. They can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen.

How do skin boosters work?

Skin boosters contain hyaluronic acid, which is injected just under the skin’s surface. Unlike dermal fillers, the hyaluronic acid used in skin boosters is much thinner, so spreads further and behaves differently.

Skin boosters add hydration and stimulate collagen production, which improves the skin’s firmness, elasticity and radiance.

The treatment protocol varies depending on which product we recommend (Profhilo or Vivacy Hydromax or Hydro), but will usually involve two to three sessions spaced a few weeks apart.

What results can I expect?

Having a skin booster treatment will improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduce dryness, even out your skin tone and enhance skin texture.

They are a great introduction to injectables if you do not feel ready, or do not yet need, dermal filler or anti-wrinkle injections.

Results generally last for around six months. Repeated treatments are recommended to maintain your enhanced skin quality.

Are there any side effects/risks to skin booster treatment?

As with all injectable treatments there are side effects and risks. Itis normal for your skin to be slightly red and swollen immediately after any injectable treatment, and mild bruising can also occur. These usually subside within 24-48 hours.

We do not offer skin booster treatment to anyone under 18 years old, with a known allergy to the ingredients in the product, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

What is the aftercare?

To ensure you get the best results, we will explain what to expect after treatment and email you aftercare instructions. These include avoiding exercise, alcohol and applying pressure to the injected area for 24 hours, and no facials, massage or device-led treatments for one week following the procedure.
